Curtain Styles From The Harley Davidson Collection

!±8± Curtain Styles From The Harley Davidson Collection

The only thing that most men think about from time they can balance themselves on two wheels is the ownership of a Harley Davidson motorcycle. You can tell this enthusiasm as it is apparent when there eyes are glued to someone driving past them on the road on a Harley, and when they lock on like radar when passing a dealership that sells them. You can help extend their overwrought mental obsession with the use of Harley Davidson Shower Curtains, and various other curtain styles for the home with that famous "Bar and Shield" logo. Many people will already have a large collection of Harley Davidson T-shirts, and other collectibles. The adding of a themed bathroom that includes the most famous American motorcycle in history will be the cherry on top for them.

There are selections of Harley Davidson curtains from their own accessory catalog, and you will find some products in the gift shop of and HD dealership, but doing an online search for these items will reveal a much greater buffet in which to choose from for your decorative purposes. Online auctions are chock-full of custom made shower curtains with images of the HD logo, Knuckleheads, and vintage Panheads as well. Many stay at home moms have niche drapery businesses that will create fabric shower curtains with your favorite selection of HD curtain fabric. These services are usually advertised on eBay, or Craigslist, and many in home businesses like this can be found in your area.

Once you have your curtain styles selected for his new man-bathroom, then adding a Harley Davidson area rug, HD logo bath linens, and a few small-framed photos or prints of his favorite motorcycle models will round of the room quite nicely. This is much more affordable then actually buying a new Harley Fat Boy to ride on the weekends, and if he is saving up for one, this will add a little inspiration for that day he takes delivery on his American masterpiece.

How-to-Tie Down A Motorcycle

!±8± How-to-Tie Down A Motorcycle

Many motorcyclists find themselves with new dilemmas that they have probably never experienced in the past. One of these is trying to tie down their bike which allows them to transport their expensive motorcycle safely. However, there are only a few tried and true methods to make sure a motorcycle can be transported without any issues.

Here is a list of basic equipment needed for securing a motorcycle for transportation/hauling: (4) high strength/good quality ratchet straps (2) ratchets and (2) cam buckle straps will do, however the preferred method is via (4) ratchet straps), and (4) soft loops. (Soft loops are special straps that keep the hooks of your cam/ratchet straps away from your bike to prevent scratching during the trip.)

Please note, when purchasing your straps please pay close attention to buckle section as it should be a nice strong metal with the preferred tooth style strap gripping plate. Now that you have the required items begin the tie-down process as outlined below.

Step 1: Once bike is in the truck or trailer, wrap soft loop around base of Left handle bar and place hook end of strap through soft loop and secure other hook of strap to secure spot in truck or trailer, pull slack out of strap and ratchet a few times, repeat for Right handle bar.

Step 2: Once both Ratchet straps are in place, tighten each snugly so that bike will sit in the upright position on its own. BE SURE TO NOT COMPRESS THE FRONT FORKS, SERIOUS DAMAGE MAY OCCUR TO SUSPENSION OF BIKE (see owners manual).

Step 3: Now for the rear of the bike. Find a stable member of the bike and wrap soft loop around and secure in same fashion as front (because each bike is a little different there is not just one specific spot to wrap the soft loop.)

Step 4: Periodically check tightness and condition of straps and load before and during trip, to ensure stability.

Step 5 Optional: The use of a wheel chock is a great security feature for your bike. If you choose to use one position straps so that they are pulling the bike in the forward position against the wheel chock.

Trailer Jack Stands

!±8± Trailer Jack Stands

The loading dock naturally is a very important area of a business that ships and receives large amounts of products. It's vital to these businesses that their loading docks operate with maximum efficiency, and, moreover, with maximum safety. In particular, businesses that operate large, very busy loading dock areas must be even more diligent about dock safety, because increased dock traffic flow clearly raises the odds of accidents occurring. Because of this, it is essential that businesses with large, high-traffic loading docks equip their dock areas with all equipment that's been proven to help maximize dock-area safety. Please take a few moments to read the following brief article to learn about trailer jack stands and other essential pieces of dock safety equipment that can combine to dramatically reduce the chance of accidents in your loading dock area and significantly increase your business' cost-effectiveness and overall efficiency.

There are many potentially dangerous occurrences that, unfortunately, are all too common at loading dock areas throughout the country. In addition to rollaway trucks and trailer creep, another potentially injury-causing dock-area occurrence is trailer upending. This is defined as a semi-trailer, when detached from its rig, suddenly tilting in a front-end-down, rear-end-up position. Upending that occurs while the trailer is parked at a dock can hurt employees handling stock inside the trailer, and, in worst-case scenario, can cause a forklift driver to take a very dangerous fall if he should be making a trailer-dock crossing when the trailer's rear portion pops up. The trailer jack stands are a vital piece of material handling equipment that prevents trailer upending from occurring.

Trailer jack stands are heavy-duty equipment that supports a trailer's front end when it's not connected to a rig during unloading/loading at a dock. Also known as stabilizing jacks or economy jacks, this vital dock safety equipment can feature up to a 100,000-pound static capacity. Top-quality models of ratchet jacks have lifting capacities of up to 40,000 pounds. The stabilizing loading jack stand prevents upending when positioned under the front end of an unattached trailer at a loading dock. Trailer upending in many cases is caused when the trailer's landing gear collapses, often due to rust damage. Some excellent trailer jack stands feature dual handles, which allow the units to be moved with hand-truck-like ease. Other top trailer jack stands feature semi-pneumatic wheels, which increase the jack stand's mobility in the loading dock area.

Other vital loading dock safety equipment includes dock barricades, wheel chocks, and traffic signal dock lights. Dock barricades, available in either electrical or mechanical models, prevent forklift operators from accidentally driving off the dock edge when a truck is not backed up to the dock. Wheel chocks are wedge-like equipment designed to be placed under truck wheels while the trucks are parked in the dock area, thereby significantly reducing the odds of a truck rolling away prior to being driven out at the proper time. Traffic signal dock lights, which resemble and serve the same basic function as road signal lights, control truck movement both outside and within dock areas. It is the customer's responsibility to verify correctness of fit for applications.

Each cable is separated and organized in its very own protective channel, making it not only look neat and organized, but also ensuring that it is hazard-free. The carrying handle is also strategically located on the underside of the protector and safety warning symbols are already molded into the lid surface, so users do not have to fret and panic whenever they lose their copy of the instruction and safety manual. Transporting and setting it up can be done in a breeze because on top of its durability, it is also lightweight and compact.

Loading Dock Ladders

!±8± Loading Dock Ladders

If you work on a loading dock, you know how important it is to have safe options for working. One of the work requirements you probably have is climbing. Many times, you may have the need to climb up and down your loading dock and other places within your plant. Loading dock ladders are the best choice for this option. Make safety a top priority at your loading dock with properly installed loading dock ladders in all the right places.

Loading dock ladders come in a couple of different styles. One of these styles is walk-through dock ladders. These ladders are great for use on your loading dock. They have extra height capacities and they are easy to install since they can be bolted or welded to your loading dock. They also won't interfere with cleaning or snow removal because they are easy to get around in these situations.

Another type of loading dock ladders is off-the-floor ladders. These ladders are installed up off the floor. This makes them great options for loading dock use or in-plant use. With space between the ladder and the floor, it is easy to clean up spills or do your daily cleaning. The ladder is never in the way. Make sure if you select this type of ladder that it has maximum slip-resistance as off-the-floor ladders can be more dangerous than other types.

In addition to loading dock ladders, you may be interested in installing ladders inside your plant. Many types of ladders are great for this job. Walk-through ladders and off-the-floor ladders work in some in-plant capacities. You might also choose a folding ladder. These ladders can be installed anywhere and fold up out of the way when you need. This makes it a great option for plants with size restrictions.

Securing Stationary Vehicles Using Roadblock Wheel Chocks Is A Must

!±8± Securing Stationary Vehicles Using Roadblock Wheel Chocks Is A Must

It's a common safety procedure in any site or workplace that stationary vehicles being loaded with cargo be secured using Roadblock Wheel Chocks. Chocks are the compact wedge-shaped obstructions stuck either behind or in front of a wheel to keep it in place. In the very unfortunate event that either brakes or a powerful force moves the vehicle, expect chocks to be your last line of defense aside from taking control of the steering wheel.

What It Does For You

The utility of Roadblock is dead simple. They secure the wheels of a specific vehicle to guarantee optimum protection during loading and/or maintenance. Wheel chocks are engineered to grip both the road and the tire. In fact, chocks today often have modular features to properly fit any type of road surface. The value and necessity of chocks increases depending on the cargo that's being loaded. Any heavyweight material whose loading may cause a jolt or resulting movement calls for chocks. Without wheel chocks or even a rudimentary object to lock the wheels in place is the vehicle may move and collide with an object or worse, a person nearby.

Correct Usage

Since almost very type of vehicle uses chocks, it's a must that you choose which chock suits your needs best. Ground-based vehicles like trucks and construction equipment call for solid grooved wedges made of rubber and resistant material. Also note that there are chocks specially molded to fit a specific grade of tire. That said, when you're about to use them-because chocks are best applied in groups and not just singularly-make doubly sure that the vehicle is stopped, the engine off, and the brakes applied. Now place the chock directly underneath the tire and position it at the middle.

When you're about to move, make sure to remove the wheel chocks-they have circular hooks attached to the side so that a string or chain may be secured to them, thereby allowing instant removal and more convenient carrying. To force the vehicle over them may cause significant damage to both the product and the tires.

Of course, the procedure illustrated above may vary according to the needs of the user. Just never forget to use more than one chock that's the right grade for your tires.

Where These Are Used

The most suitable occasion for Roadblock Wheel Chocks is when the cargo involves significant tonnage. Though it's a straightforward safety device, wheel chocks are found in a variety of industries from construction to airports. In fact, if you've ever watched a plane dock at an airport, you would have noticed personnel sliding a long rectangular yellow-and-black wheel chock underneath the massive airplane tires.

If cargo vehicles are essential to your business, Roadblock Chocks are essential investments that will go the extra mile (even if they won't move an inch) in keeping either complex or simple cargo-loading processes secure for everyone involved.
